There’s nothing more therapeutic than sitting in a cozy coffee shop in front of a fancy-made latte. A coffee shop experience should be more than just a grab-and-go scheme. It’s comforting to know that your baristas are actual humans, not just a voice from a drive through screen.
Here are our top coffee shops in Ventura County!
Prospect Coffee: Prospect Coffee is a quaint, yet open coffee house situated in a neighborhood over looking the Pacific Ocean in Ventura. The menu is painted on the wall when you first walk in, and they also feature a rotating menu with speciality drinks located near the register.
Not only is the coffee amazing but they are among the first coffee houses to introduce Oat Milk. For those of you that aren’t familiar with oat milk, oat milk is a lactose/dairy free milk substitute, made from, you guessed it – oats!
Oat milk is a great alternative for those who are lactose intolerant, vegan, or just those looking to make an extra creamy, textured beverage!
Prospect Coffee Roast
Prospect Coffee roast their coffee beans off site in Ventura and sell their coffee beans at the Coffee Bar in Downtown Ventura.
Not coffee related, but definitely notable: grab a pastry if you’re lucky to get your hands on one! The pastries are fresh and taste incredible from Bree’Osh Bakery in Santa Barbara.
Ragamuffin Coffee Shop
Ragamuffin Coffee Shop gets a special shout out on our list because it’s cute, quaint and has 2 locations which we love! Our typical spot is located in the Annex at the Collection at Riverpark. The other location is located in Newbury Park.
Ok, now the spotlight on Ragamuffin: Dirty Chai Latte, Lavendar Latte and Vanilla Latte. These are 3 of their most popular drinks and when you try them, you’ll understand why. The dirty chai latte is a chai tea latte with a shot of espresso, and yes it will definitely give you Christmas vibes. The lavender latte is sweet; but not overpowering, with the perfect hint of lavender. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a Vanilla latte if you prefer your coffee on the sweeter side.
The Five07 is a favorite because of their Matcha which is sourced from Alfred Tea Room in Los Angeles. Not only are their drinks amazing, they’re one of the few to actually have a kitchen in their coffee house as well. So think – delicious avocado toasts, paninis and smoothie bowls.
Plus, they have an artisty vibe going on and feature local artists to perform weekly. Bonus, the FiveOh7 stays open until midnight, and let’s face it – sometimes we need that after-hour cup of joe.
