Trader Joe's Shopping List for the Ultimate Charcuterie Board

Sep 01 , 2020

Charcuterie boards are great additions to any event, whether it's a small platter or the focal point of your food table.

Charcuterie boards, if you don't know how to prepare accordingly, can easily become expensive. Trader Joe's and Costco are your best options to make an affordable graze board. Here are a few tips and a shopping list from Trader Joe's.

Cheeses

The most important part of a charcuterie board! Trader Joe's has really great and unique options to chose from that won't break the bank. You can find some exotic cheeses from around the world. Here our favorite cheeses that are a necessity on any of our tables:

  1. Trader Joe's Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions
  2. Brie
  3. Unexpected Cheddar
  4. Blueberry Goat Cheese (SUCH a hit, and adds a great pop of color)

Meats

Meats can be costly. Usually, if we're creating a small board, I'll buy all my meats at Trader Joe's, but if we're having a party then I'll usually buy specialty meats at Trader Joe's and packs of salami and pepperoni at Sam's Club or Costco. They sell bulk packs (22 oz) for about $7 - this is a necessity if you're having a party and need to continue to restock throughout the night. However, for the specialty meat like prosciutto, opt to buy at Trader Joe's.

  1. Variety pack of Italian meats, prosciutto, capocollo, Genova salami
  2. Pepperoni
  3. Salami

Crackers

Trader Joe's has a lot of great cracker options but these seem to do well on our boards:

  1. Long Breadsticks
  2. Rosemary Crisps
  3. Multi-grain round crackers

Fruits and Veggies

The pop of color to your masterpiece! Adding fruits and vegetables will ensure you get the most vibrant and diverse colors. Here are some favorites that people love:

  1. Mini cucumbers
  2. Strawberries
  3. Champagne Grapes
  4. Raspberries

Dips and Dressings

Trader Joe's is also the best place to get unique dips and dressings for your boards. It's always safe to get hummus, soft cheese like ricotta or cream cheese, and a jam. For the "extra" touch, order a honey dipper from Amazon and plate your honey on top of the board. People LOVE using a honey dipper, and they are pretty affordable.

  1. Fig Jam
  2. Garlic Hummus
  3. Everything but the Bagel Dip
  4. Honey + Honey Dipper

Sweet Additions

To top off your board, make sure to have a sweet addition to your table. You don't have to go overboard, but adding small sweet treats will definitely enhance your board.

  1. Dried Mandarin Oranges
  2. Chocolate Covered Almonds
  3. Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Trader Joe's has a ton of great options for your charcuterie board! Plus, the more you make them and learn your audience, you'll be able to adjust and craft your own unique charcuterie plates! Show us how you make your charcuterie or graze boards, tag us in any photos @thebevbabes.
